Love and other news...

It's LOVE day!!  14 years ago today the man who would become my life partner and I decided to commit to a relationship together.  While we may only officially be married now for 8 1/2 years, all those early years are special to me.  Those were the years where we pursued college degrees, worked to establish careers, took drives up to the mountains and out to the coast, figured out what made the other one "tick", and basically built the foundation to where we are today.  Three kids (almost), and one mortgage later, and my heart still skips a beat when I see my husband walk into a room.  I know it's smushy and mushy... but I couldn't resist and had to put it out there...  LOVE you, Travis!!!

In Elliott news, potty training is pretty much complete!  We waited until we thought he was really ready to try and then had him pick out some cute big boy underwear.  (His choice was Thomas).  We showed him what he had to do, and set a timer at first.  Day 1 went really well with only 1 or 2 small accidents.  Day 2 was flawless, and even though day 3 was a preschool day, Elliott made it to the bathroom and was even dry when he woke up from his nap!  Now we just try and remind him once in a while, shortly after he's had a lot to drink, or before we go somewhere to run errands.  It helps that he also has an older brother to model after and be "potty" buddies with...  Dominic sometimes decides to take Elliott to the bathroom with him when he has to go (haha) so Elliott gets extra reminders!!  :) So proud of our little "big boy".

In other news, we have a birthday all arranged for our baby.  February 22, 2011 (2/22/11)!  Because baby 3 (aka "Salsa") is measuring big for his gestation, and because Elliott had a shoulder dystocia issue during his delivery, my doctor does not want me going much past 37 weeks.  Elliott wasn't that "big" at 7 lbs 10 oz, but he was only 18" long so getting stuck was all about his shoulders.  Because of our shoulder dystocia history, we have to go get an amniocentesis on the 21st to ensure Salsa's lungs will be mature and ready to breathe and then back for an induction on the 22nd.  Hopefully delivering earlier will shave off enough ounces to ease Salsa's entrance to the world and prevent any serious, possibly permanent ,shoulder and arm deformities. We have one more ultrasound to verify size on Monday, but the plan is to get our party started on the 22nd. So one more in-womb photo that I'll hopefully have time to post, then finish nesting/cleaning and bring on the baby love!
