Went in for an ultrasound today to check baby's growth & position. His cute little feet are just over 2 inches (6.5 cm) long, and he's in the 88% percentile for size weighing in at around 5 lbs already!! At almost 33 weeks along, I feel like we'll have a good solid 8 lb baby if we deliver around 38 weeks (Elliott's gestation). 38 weeks is only about 5 weeks from right now, so that's why today's lucky number is 5!!
The older boys are doing great and seemed to enjoy seeing the baby on the TV at the doctor's office. Dominic *really* knows what's going on now so he likes to go and pays attention to everything. Elliott doesn't have as much attention span although he loves to go visit Dr. Barrett and ham it up for her. Elliott much prefers to check out baby Salsa on his own at home and has regular love sessions with my belly. Dominic has a baby doll he "fathers" and has to sleep with every night and likes to "feed" with her doll baby bottle and cover with her tiny baby blanket. He has renamed her "Monica"-- probably inspired by a preschool buddy's sister also by the same name. Seems like a slight improvement over the first name: Nosey-nose.
Preschool is so much fun lately, too. We've had 3 birthday parties in the last 2 weeks and I can't believe our 4 year olds are all turning 5 and will be starting kindergarten next fall!! They are spirited and happy and sure keep me on my toes. We've worked on geography and weather lessons recently, and will be working on firefighter themed projects next week. I look forward to a Valentine's party with them next month, too. Can we really only have 1 week left in January?? Time sure flies.
